2007-2008 Season
March 2008: NYC Cultural Exchange trip Unchained Talent will be traveling to New York City in March
to visit and perform for other youth performing arts programs, visit and explore
NYC universities and conservatories, and to take in some of NYC’s finest performing arts.
This will be a mind-opening trip for our young people.
April 18 and 25, 2008: Concrete Jungle: a Hip-Hop Musical - doors at 6:30, show at 7 p.m. Unchained Talent students from the drama program and the
recording studio program will collaborate to write and prepare an original
musical production. The Unchained Talent students’ musical will be completely original
and touch the heart through hip-hop music and culture.
May 23, 2008: Unchained Talent's 2nd Annual Awards Show Student-produced production to feature favorite works from the past
season and honor students who performed exceptionally well in their role in our productions.
Summer 2008: Unchained Talent Summer Theater Program Unchained Talent members mentor younger students from the Montebello PAL Center to
write and prepare an original stage production providing leadership and passing along all they know
about performance and production to the next generation.
Past Shows
2008: date to be determined- Collaborative ROOTS Grants performance A collective performance with several ROOTS Grants program during black history month to share with
the world the talent and hard work of the Family League of Baltimore City's ROOTS Program Grantees!
December 20, 2007: Unchained Talent Holiday Show Featuring all of the talented students from both high schools on our campus,
the holiday show will be full of song, dance, skit and verse to highlight some of the realities
and our favorite parts about the holidays. (Encore performance December 12th in the early afternoon)
October 26, 2007: Party's Over Entirely written and directed by fourth year student, Antonitio Briggs,
Party’s Over is an entertaining and satirical look at the horror film genre. A clever "DVD
within a play" about a teen party and their encounter with Victor Crow, the Baltimore County
Slasher... Party's Over will have you laughing, crying and jumping out of your seat...
August 2, 2007: Friendships An original student-written production in collaboration with
the Montebello PAL Center about the value of Friendships as illustrated by African parables.
June 2007: Unchained Talent's 1st Annual Awards Show A student-driven production as a culmination of all the skills our students learned during
the Baltimore Youth Apprenticeship Program (provided by The Family League of Baltimore City)
to feature favorite works from the past season and honor students who performed exceptionally
well in their role in our past productions.
April 20, 2007: Fame! The Musical
A moving and inspirational musical based on the lives of a group of
students attending New York’s High School for the Performing Arts.
November 17, 2006: Who Will Heal Our Community?
A powerful theatrical production designed to entertain, provoke thought and
inspire discussion about our community’s needs. Performed in partnership with
WombWork

May 19-20, 2006: You Think You Know Me, But You Really Don't The first full length student-original play sharing the stories
you may not know about our students to look at them.
March 17-18, 2006: Rapunzel Uncut A Fairy Tale True Story; by Mariah Everman The retelling of the "True Hollywood" story of Rapunzel
The story of Rapunzel told my dueling narrators, with a misunderstood witch, an off-pitch Rapunzel,
and an unimaginably stupid Prince. Produced by special arrangement with Playscripts.com
