Special Opportunities
Unchained Talent seeks special opportunities to expand our young people's horizons, add depth to their resumé and enrich their experience of the world.
Special Field Trips
Unchained Talent students and adult volunteers traveled to New York City for a cultural exchange with sister program CityKids. We saw Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof performed by an all African-American cast, visited NYU and a performing arts conservatory, participated in a workshop with an acting coach on “The Business of The Business,” and built student confidence by allowing them to navigate through the bustling streets and subways of a large and unfamiliar city.
Unchained Talent also regularly attends local professional theatre shows to experience the world through repertory theatre and give the young artists an example of the professionalism and quality to strive for in their work.
Performance in the Community
Unchained Talent students have the opportunity to share their work beyond the walls of their beautiful campus auditorium. Each year Unchained Talent performs in and around the community including at several HIV awareness events, the Youth Opportunity Summit and the Peer2Peer Extravanza.
